The Need:

Over the last several years BVFD has envisioned a fire station that could accommodate all of its equipment and provide more reliable fire and emergency services not only for the entire Bodega community, but our surrounding communities.

History:

The ability of the Bodega community to sustain a volunteer fire department has been proven for over 60 years. Our current station was built over 55 years ago. The need to modernize and expand the fire station is essential in order to provide emergency services today and in the future for our community. This new firehouse will enhance response times, firefighter retention, and provide a safe work, and training environment with all apparatus in one location.

Our Goal:

The goal will be to build the most architectural pleasing building that fits into our local decor and satisfies the requirements of the BVFD within the funds available.

The building will have 100% emergency standby generating capacity and water storage capacities as recommended by the Chief. The building will also have the ability to convert into an emergency shelter and or triage center for our community in case of a major or minor catastrophic event.

Your Help:

We have already received generous support from many local residents and businesses in the area. Your support is needed. You can support our project through being part of our community and help us meet our goals.

Our Community:

The Bodega community although small, experiences high traffic and tourism creating a high call volume including many accidents and coastal rescues. We are known for the location of St Theresa of Avila church built in the 1800s and the oldest active church in California, Potter School house from Alfred Hitchcock's movie The Birds, and the house in Phenomenon.
